Summary:
The Pottery Associate is the front face of the business.
Interacting with customers, knowledge of the studio and pottery, and routine shop tasks keep our business a fun and creative space for the community.
This role is great for someone looking to learn or expand their knowledge of the pottery making process.
Hours:
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 12pm-6pm
Responsibilities:
? Perform Open/Close checklist duties each shift ? Answers incoming calls, text messages, and voicemails ? Operates equipment such as cash register, copier and computers ? Sells pottery, clay and supplies through the Point of Sale system ? Prepare materials for classes and paint your own pottery walk-ins ? Maintains clean restrooms daily and restock hygiene material, as needed ? Clean wheels and accompanying supplies at end of the day ? Operate the kilns by loading and unloading pottery using staff procedures Knowledge, Abilities &
Experience:
? General knowledge of computers and related software; ? General knowledge of standard office practices and procedures ? Experience with the operation of common office equipment ? Ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships with others ? Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions ? Must be able to lift objects up to 25 pounds, and move chairs around ? Must be at least 16 years old Preferred
Qualifications:
? Knowledge of ceramic arts practices and procedures including hand built and wheel-thrown construction, glazing and surface decoration, use of proper equipment, and electric, gas, and raku kiln firing ? Requires drug and background check (which may include criminal check, education verification and credit history review) prior to employment Job Type:
