immediate need to fill multiple contract positions with potential for extensions and permanent placement.
This person must be able to take direction from electrical engineering and experienced drafters to create all documents for customer approval and manufacturing of Medium Voltage switchgears.
Typical documents include:
o Panel arrangement o Electrical schematics o Three line drawings o Wiring diagrams o Nameplate schedule Essential Job Functions:
o Make final drawing of proposed sketch, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure of project.
o Make all adjustments or changes as directed by engineer.
o Draw finished designs from engineer's sketches or from other engineering documentation.
o Utilize knowledge of various drafting packages and software to complete drawings.
o Visually compare design of component, or other equipment with drawing of parts, matching coordinating points for accuracy of fit.
o Note corrections or questions on drawings in green marker for discussion with engineer responsible for drawing.
o Record drafting progress by highlighting drawn portions of sketch with yellow highlighter as you draft.
o Record all changes and resubmit to engineer in charge of project.
o Make copy of original drawing for engineer.
o Make original drawing in title block area using a yellow highlighter before returning same to engineer.
o Understand that job descriptions change over time.
You are expected to maintain competence, awareness, and compliance with your job.
o Treat all Siemens information and customer information in a confidential manner.
o Understand and efficiently use Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
Job Requirements:
o Associate's degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design, Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
o 3 years of Electrical CAD/design/drafting experience with engineering firms o Proven ability to create, convert & modify drawings with AutoCAD Electrical o Ability to read, understand and evaluate electrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements.
o Strong work ethic and willing to do what it takes to get the job done o Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary o Microsoft Office o Ability to use related equipment and hardware such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) system (AutoCAD o Technical knowledge of the Electrical Products industry.
o Ability to multitask and manage large workloads and business demands o Strong written, verbal, mathematical, and interpersonal skills.
o An ideal candidate is detailed orientated and able to embrace a culture of quality.
Considered a plus but not required:
o Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or engineering technology o Knowledge of power distribution equipment o Knowledge of power distribution protection and control design o Experience with electrical design for medium voltage switchgear o Previous experience with ELCAD or Engineering Base o Proficient in Spanish (both written and spoken) Required Skills:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
